Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.
